What an excellent opportunity for organizational founders to have the potential for growth when faced with being accountable and relinquishi...ng control. This begs the question if founders have a difficult time with accountability did he or she ever experience true accountability in their life? Otherwise, there might not be as much push back if founders see and experience the advantages of accountability and how board governance can accelerate the growth of the organization in the right direction. Taking ownership is a good concept, however, when an organization or ministry is viewed as “mine” and not “ours” it becomes apparent there is an individual mindset that is self centered and not centered on others.
